Chris Tyrell

I have been involved with the visual arts, visual artists and the arts in general since 1976 when I established Presentation House Gallery of Photography in North Vancouver. I am passionate about the arts and have worked as a consultant for many arts organizations including Emily Carr Institute, Arts Club Theatre, Vancouver Film Festival and The Roundhouse. I designed, built and managed Presentation House Theatre and managed the Waterfront Theatre and Performance Works facilities on Granville Island. I was a founding member of the BC Touring Council and co-founded the Alliance for Arts and Culture in Vancouver.

I founded the Visual Arts Newsletter of Opus Framing & Arts Supplies in 1986; my editorials in the journal earned two Vancouver Business and the Arts awards.

I am currently an instructor of professional development at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in the Continuing Studies Department.
