Where there’s art there’s love.

As an Italian American artist and potter, I am deeply inspired by things with a story—weathered clay, old beams, Italian sun-washed facades . My ancestors, both brave and resourceful, believed in building a good life from very little, a lesson that continues to guide my work today.

After earning a degree in marketing from Penn State and a dynamic career in design and construction across the US, life led me across the Atlantic to Hamburg, Germany, following my husband’s once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity. There, I faced a daunting new start: learning German, reinventing my professional path, and finding fresh ways to create meaning. I began teaching English to German business executives, and then took a transformative leap—undertaking a five-year apprenticeship at a ceramics master school in Hamburg.

Ceramics became both passion and profession. Since opening my first studio in 2000, I have established a workspace wherever I’ve lived—shaping clay and building community in Germany, Italy, and beyond.

Together with my husband, our next chapter took us to a crumbling hillside property in the Langhe region of Piemonte, Italy. We spent ten years restoring those ancient walls, turning them into a five-star B&B and working studio—a creative home that became a haven for guests and artists alike. After selling the B&B and relocating to Germany’s Black Forest, we maintained our ties to Piemonte, always returning to its inspiration and promise.

Now, as our journey comes full circle, we are coming back to Italy, this time in the Alta Langa, taking on the restoration of two derelict homes in the village of Murazzano. Through it all—whether shaping pottery, restoring historic homes, or weaving together new beginnings—my work is a tribute to renewal, craftsmanship, and the enduring beauty of transformation.

Ceramics

I came to pottery as an adult while living in Hamburg. At first the thought was to be able to try my hand at something tactile and creative. But these goals quickly grew and before long, I had my own studio and was producing for clients and exhibitions. I create durable, bespoke stoneware tableware for exclusive restaurants, wineries, and clients. Now into my 27th year of making pots, the work is as exciting as the day I started.

Gardening

Food and ceramics are so closely related. My parents were passionate gardeners, as were many of my family members who immigrated from Italy. Although I hated it as a kid, the gene developed late, and now we’ve kept gardens for years in both Italy and Germany. Over time, our gardens have become more natural, less weeded, more nutritionally dense and wilder.

Mixed Media Art

I’ve created mixed media art for over 25 years, with any materials I can find. Some of my best work happens if I remember not to take it or myself too seriously. I work on commissions and am going to sell prints here… watch this space!
