Historic Stone House Restoration Projects in Murazzano, Piedmont, Italy

Our two ancient Italian townhouses are being reimagined as a modern home, guest house and studio. This restoration blends old-world materials with contemporary design and deep respect for craft.

Restoration with Purpose: Breathing New Life into History

Standing in these centuries-old Italian stone homes, I feel cool stone under my palm—a connection to generations past. Every restoration begins with a mindful promise: to move history forward, blending creative vision with respect and careful preservation. Our mission is to recreate spaces that honor the past, guided by the understanding that our work endures for generations, well beyond our own brief time here.

The Village

Murazzano: Edge of the Langhe

Discover Murazzano, Heart of the Alta Langa

Murazzano sits at the southern edge of Piedmont’s Langhe region, perched high above rolling vineyards, lush woods, and open pastures. This hilltop village is a gateway between the iconic Barolo hills and the sparkling Mediterranean visible on clear days. Surrounded by steep slopes, cool air, and a tranquil pace, Murazzano remains a hidden gem in northern Italy.

  • Goats graze scattered meadows, providing milk for Murazzano DOP, one of Italy's oldest, most celebrated cheeses—still crafted in traditional stone dairies.

  • The altitude and climate shape unique vineyards, yielding Alta Langa DOCG Metodo Classico, a refined sparkling wine known for its elegance and Alpine-maritime brightness.

  • Life unfolds slowly here, in harmony with shifting light and thriving white grape varieties, offering an authentic, peaceful experience in the Piemonte wine country.

Restoration Projects in Murazzano

We are revitalizing two adjacent historic stone homes, nestled on a quiet lane with breathtaking southern views of the Ligurian Apennines and the distant French Alps. Each property includes architecture from the 15th to the 19th century—timeless settings to create new memories.

The Guest House: Elegant Hospitality in the Alta Langa

Before Restoration: Classic Stone Architecture

The first project is a stone townhouse with 60 cm thick walls, original wooden beams, and a vaulted kitchen ceiling. We envision this space as an elegant, artful guest house—perfect for visitors seeking a unique stay in the Piemonte region. With a decade of B&B experience in Italy, we now offer independent hospitality: a self-contained retreat for friends and guests to discover the Alta Langa.

Project 2 - The Residence and Art Studio: Preserving 15th-Century Heritage

Loft Conversion with Panoramic Alps Views

The main residence requires delicate, thoughtful restoration to preserve its 15th-century heritage. With magnificent stone walls and massive wooden beams—some as large as entire trees—this historic home spans two floors, each offering 100 square meters of space. The top floor will be transformed into a spacious open loft featuring stunning panoramic views of the Alps.

Artistic Living Spaces: Studio and Exhibition Areas

The ground floor will be reimagined as a versatile art studio, lounge, and exhibition space, welcoming both the owner and local artists.
